Nursery!

So...the day after the shower Shannon came over to help me get everything unpacked and organized. I think Shannon knew that if she didn't the stuff may or may not have sat there for a time...just waiting! :) Janet had helped me take all the tags off the clothes so we washed those, un-boxed everything, took the bottles apart for cleaning, decorated, organized, folded endless clothes, etc...We had fun at first and then we were both exhausted by the time it was all said and done. :)

Baby Shower part 3

Grandma Linda and Grandpa gave me and Zach a beautiful rocking chair that is over 100 years old and was owned by Zach's Great-Great-Great-Great Grandparents! She also got him sunshades for the car, a car mirror, baby wipes, cute clothes, a baby bath...one of those things that he can lay on a mat and play with the toys above him (yeah...I'm going to be a great mom)...and some onesies including a very warm snuggly suit. Also, she got him some mosquito netting for his stroller...word is the mosquitos are awful in Alaska! He also got his first pair of tennis shoes!

Mom and Angel, et al got Zach apparently everything else in the store. That included, but was not limited to, some sleepytime worship music, a frame for his first handprint and footprint (OMG it is small!!), a BRIGHT smiley face outfit (there is a history with that), a picture of Pooh and friends for the nursery (was previsously featured on this blog), a baby bath, blankets, the most adorable Tigger hooded bathrobe w/ foot covers, lots of clothes, a Pooh light switch cover, bottles, a rug for the nursery (which, coincidentally, Smokey now thinks was placed there just for him), baskets, lots of diapers, saftey plug covers, nursing pads (let's pretend like I won't need those...), crocs--yes they make them for babies...and lots more clothes! Zach also got an absolutely adorable and incredibly soft elephant stuffed animal that plays a lullaby and has a teething ring on it!

Lindsey and John got us a boppy pillow which is helpful for nursing and it is a pillow Zach can use for a variety of positions...they also got him some bibs!

Grandma and Grandpa from Virginia got Zachary the lovely bedding set that he will be sleeping in here in a two months! It is so soft and so absolutely adorable. They also got him a traveling play pen that is just about the most versatile thing we've ever seen. It can be a bassinet for when they are tiny and it later will turn into a play pen...it can also serve as a changing table...it folds down to travel size!

Baby Shower part 2!

So...then we began opening presents. There were so many! When I stop and think...it overwhlems me to the point of tears to think about how much love is waiting for my little Zachary when he gets here. It is just heart warming and incredible.

Ok now that the weeping pregnant lady can see straight again...Zachary got quite a bit of clothes. he has one drawer of newborn sizes, two drawers of 3-6 months and one drawer of 6 months and older. He is set! They were all so adorable I am not sure how we're going to decide on outfits. Janet made the joke there were so many that we would have to put them on, take a picture, and then switch. Rinse and repeat. lol.

My friend Shannon scrapbooked a frame for Zachary that was adorable. She also got us stocked up with scrapbook supplies so that I will be ready to document his every waking moment! She also got us a newborn medicine kit...which I probably could have guessed seeing that she is always armed and ready for a medicine emergency! She also got some adorable clothes for Zach. She also got Zach his first stuffed animal...a Pooh!

My neice Lili drew a nice picture for us and wrote us a quick note. :)

Aunt Karen and Uncle Stewart got us these changing pad covers that we can take with us to use in public places so that Zachs little bottom doesn't get the germs from all the little bottoms before him. They also got us the first aid kit. Last but not least was a beautiful quilt that Karen made for Zach. It was absolutely adorable...and happens to be the only handmade thing Zach owns!

Cousin Rachel and Andrea got Zach a blanket, some bibs, burp pads, bottles and some clothes. Boy, one of each thing! :) It must be pointed out that one of the outfits was a baseball style that had a baseball for a butt...iut was too cute!

Aunt Audra got Zach a changing pad for his dresser...the spot of many future mishaps I am sure!!! (picture of that to come in the nursery post!)

Aunt Janet and Uncle Ray got the adorable wall hangings of Pooh and his friends (minus Rabitt) and some more adorable clothes.

Nana got Zach a versatile group of gifts...some really great blankets that were very pretty, some hangers, towels and washcloths, clothes, mittens, a hat, bottle brushes, gowns...and her gift was in a little green wagon that was too cute! She also got him a red Christmas Pooh sweater.

Baby Shower

Well we had the baby shower this weekend. It was fun and Zach got a haul of stuff that will give him very good start when he joins us! I will be working on my thank you cards here shortly. Thank you so much to everyone!!! :)

--Here are some pictures. Now...seeing that I am the editor of these pictures I have chosen the ones in which I MOSTLY don't look horrible.
We'll have to break it down I think. So we'll start with pictures of the guests.
Me, my Mom and my neice Lili.
Me and my Nana...in from Austin!

Me and Aunt Janet...in from Houston!

Me and my friends Lindsey and John.

Me and my sister Angel.

Me and the baby shower planner extroirdianaire/BFF Shannon!!

Once everyone arrived we ate some snacks, had some punch and found some seats. Gaming ensued.
We played the purse game...where you have to try and find stuff in your purse. Unfortunately my friend Lindsey rode in on a motorcycle and only had a wallet and a helmet.
Next we played baby bingo followed by the Name That-Disgusting-Baby-Food game! I advised everyone I would surely lose that game. And I did. When you confuse pears for macaroni you know it's going to be a rough motherhood. :)

My Mom also got a lovely cake.

Update

It's been a while since I've posted...I am finally off of overtime at work...I was working 5-7 days a week for 8-12 hours for about six weeks. Raked in some dough...and time went fast...oh...wait...still 78 days to go!!!

We spent Memorial Day weekend with my family in Kerrville. Here are some pictures.

My cousin Olivia.

Great Grandma Linda got Zachary a nice stroller/car seat set that daddy-to-be Chris learned the ropes on.

We got our beautiful dresser for Zachary home safe and sound. Great Grandma Becky has made sure that Zachary has a nice place to store all of his things. :)

We also made a video for Chris' Grandpa's 80th birthday...here is what didn't make it:

Also...as some of you may know...and some may not...we got orders to Alaska. Not too many details other than it is Elmendorf AFB and it will be sometime in November!

So...pregnancy update
-All tests that you can take have come back negative
-My blood pressure is always perfect
-No cravings to report
-My metabolism is out of control. I eat a bagel and fruit in the morning at 7ish. I am STARVING by 9. No...not hungry...not...I could eat a bite...I am talking blurry vision, headache, tummy talkin' STARVING. I was worried about gestational diabetes, but that test came back good. The doctor told me I would get to the point where I would feel like I was eating all day...so I got some healthier things in order to do that...I am still starving, but at least the protein bar is healthy. :( I AM SO HUNGRY!
-Zach likes to play the drums. It's inspiring. I don't really get the particular songs he is attempting...but I know he is beating on all of my internals with great rhythm! It's crazy how much oomph he has in his movements. If I am reading with my hand resting on my tummy and he kicks (or whatever) the magazine jumps...I lose focus...and I am like...did Zach just do that??!
