5 weeks & goodbye Grandma!

Today was a sad day because it was Grandma's last day with us up here! We had a good time. We went to lunch with the girls and then took Zach to Bouncin' Bears.

It's cold here in Alaska...bet you knew that. People we know from Michigan and Buffalo, NY are complaining about how cold it is here. It's brutal! As Karen said, my mom must love me to come visit this time of year!

Zach had lots of fun at the bouncy house place-and he got wore out! Good job on our part!

Mommy got in on it too!
Pretty cute!
She looks pretty relaxed to me!
Not sure what's with Daddy's face but Melanie looks pretty cute!
Watching Dora together.
Talking to Grandma!
ALl the girls went to lunch, the three of us along with Emma, Avery and Meghan.

Grumpy baby face! But the hat is too cute, isn't it?

Grandma got a workout at Bouncin Bears. I told her she should stay up here as part of a weight loss program but she didn't bite.

My strong little girl! She's five weeks already (yesterday)...can you believe that?

Melanie's one month old!

Well if you can believe it, Melanie was one month old yesterday!! And for her birthday she gave ME a present-the first four hours of sleep I've gotten at one time since she was born! Yay. She's getting bigger and fatter. We're starting to get in some sort of pattern with sleeping...she's sleeping in her crib.

Grandma's here!!! Thank goodness. Grandma has helped out a lot and, well, we just like having her around. =D Unfortunately for her, she came during the coldest time of year, it's been hovering round -20 since she got here, until today when it started snowing and "warmed up" to 10. =D

I've started school and I'm super busy! Chris is busy back at work. Zach's still in school for now, we'll see how that goes. All in all we're kinda just in survival mode for now until things settle down...which I predict will be about May or so. Maybe my blog posts will be better by then.

Such a sweet little girl. Nothing is so sweet as a peacefully sleeping baby!
Whacha doin' mama?
Grandma has her taking a paci, but she doesn't take it for me much...I think she's holding out for the real thing! lol
Naked baby!
She's not so much sitting up as she is stuck like that, lol!
Grandma took Zach to McD's after he got his haircut. Yes it's severe, but the boy's hair grows like weeds! I forgot to tell them to leave him something up front so he's got nothing. It looks weird b/c the very front of his hairline is blonde so it looks like there is no hair there.
Yummy french fries!
See how badly he needed that haircut?
Sweetie!
Must be something interesting going on over there.
There's a Grandma with her newest Grandbaby. For those that don't know, this is my Mom's fourth grandchild (three girls and one boy)-and she's only 48! We're keeping her busy!
There's that paci again!
Don't worry, we're still nursing. We are also pumping so I can get some stuff done...and get a nap or two while mom is here!
That's how Melanie likes to sleep-head all to the side...you'd think it was uncomfortable, but she doesn't think so.
That's a big girl...she's pretty good at lifting her head these days. She's very curious about everything around her. She spends a good 20-30 minutes checking stuff out while laying by herself when she's awake.

Wow, look how tan Grandma looks compared to us. Showoff...
That is my ridiculously handsome little boy!! He's still doing well with Melanie. Doesn't appear to be jealous or regressing or anything like that. Just typical Zach. He likes to give Melanie kisses...and when he takes a bath he has cups of coffee that he serves and he always saves one for Melanie. =D My only problem is he calls her him...I can't convince him she's a her. lol
Me and my kids. I still can't believe that word is plural!
Run run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man!
Hanging with Grandma!!

Comparing babies

So, I wanted to know if they looked similar when they were babies b/c my memory didn't think so. Here are some similar photos. I think Melanie looks like a plumper version of her brother!

Almost three weeks of a four person family!

Greetings all! Tomorrow marks Melanie's third week of life! We had her two week checkup last week. She was up to 7.15! Woohoo. She's fattening up, which makes me happy. Not sleeping all that well, wakes up to eat every couple of hours still. Hoping that improves sooner rather than later. =D

Zach is doing well. For the moment we've kept him in pre-school. When I picked him up yesterday his teacher told me how impressed she was that he could draw his shapes and that he knew the difference between a square and a rectangle. :) Now if we could only get him to LISTEN. lol He's relatively unaffected by Melanie still. He likes her well enough, but he's not impressed, lol.

My parents are coming up next week so that'll be fun. I plan to break Melanie into her crib this weekend in preparation for their visit and so that Chris can come back to his own bed! lol

Where there's a will for video games, there's a way.
That's a smile ladies and gentlemen!
Sleepy girl!

This is Zach holding a green bean that he REALLY didn't want to eat.

She's already after my jewelry!!
She doesn't look comfortable at all does she?

Silly Kenai! She LOVES playing in the snow.

Here's my handsome man playing out int he snow with Daddy and Kenai!

This one just makes me laugh.

So there's no video of Melanie b/c she just kinda eats and sleeps right now. Maybe next week! And Zach has decided he's camera shy this month, so I just have a little hodge podge of him here.
